Jason Copper
Jason Copper is an Associate of MRC McLean Hazel. Educated at The Judd School in Tonbridge in his native Kent, he went on to read politics at Lancaster University where he gained a BA (Hons). He moved from Lancashire to Suffolk where he had a number of jobs including, on a voluntary basis, working for the Labour Party in Ipswich.

In 1992 his burgeoning political career came to an abrupt halt when he got a proper job at Suffolk County Council carrying out research into road traffic accidents in the Highways Department. Following a reorganisation in 1996, he was tempted into the transport planning team where he began work on TPPs and package bids. He also started a part time MSc Transport Planning course at Westminster University. Having completed his Masters, and gaining Chartered Membership of the Institute of Logistics and Transport, Jason moved to Yorkshire to head the newly formed transport policy team at the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. In 2002, after three years in Beverley, he moved to the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Assembly as the Transport Planning Manager, preparing the Regional Transport Strategy and contributing to the Regional Spatial Strategy. He joined MRC McLean Hazel in March 2006, where he is now heavily involved in the MKSM growth area and in further developing the MRCMH prioritisation process.

Beyond the working environment Jason is keen on science fiction and fantasy being an enthusiastic Star Wars fan; he also enjoys hi-fi, music and cinema. A self confessed curry addict he loves preparing authentic Indian cuisine. In the winter he can be found walking around the Lake District and in the summer somewhere in the Yorkshire Wolds riding his bike or hurtling round in his beloved Westfield. He is married to Fiona, and has twin girls.
