Chris Campbell is a consultant with MRC McLean Hazel, a consultancy specialising in providing transport advice, concepts and solutions for the public and private sectors.
He graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2007 with a MA (Hons) in International Business. Whilst there, his studies focused upon international strategy and management with an emphasis upon issues relating to culture, corporate social responsibility and environmental ethics. His undergraduate dissertation allowed him to question the viability of multinational corporations establishing ‘ethical cultures’ across national boundaries. During his International Business 3rd year exchange, Chris was lucky enough to attend the Goodes Hall School of Business at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, taking courses such as Leadership and International Negotiations. Whilst in Canada he discovered his love of snowboarding and watching ice hockey.
Following his MA degree, Chris chose to continue his studies by working towards an MSc in Environmental Sustainability (University of Edinburgh) to pursue and apply his interest in sustainable development. Courses ranged from International Development to Ecological Economics. His MSc dissertation questioned the ability of market incentives and policy to promote environmental values within the personal finance industry. During this year, he took a particular interest in sustainable transport, in particular challenges regarding the externalities of the aviation industry.
During his time at MRC McLean Hazel, Chris has provided support to a variety of projects ranging from Mobility Assessments to the current CIVITAS+ project RENAISSANCE. He regards transport to be the most relevant sector to promote and maintain sustainable development and is excited about the difference MRCMH can make in this field.
Outside of the office, Chris enjoys playing sports and keeping fit. His love of the outdoors takes him hiking and camping whenever possible. When not active Chris also enjoys watching films and writing screenplays, many of which are registered. He enjoys learning and is currently taking evening classes to learn French.
